Thomas Sinden were appointed to deliver the modernisation and refurbishment of South Lambeth Road GP Surgery. The project, undertaken for the NHS Lambeth Clinical Commissioning Group, has successfully transformed the facility over a 17-week period.
The project involved the complete strip-out, remodelling, and refurbishment of the GP practice to create a more modern and efficient environment.
Key Improvements:
• Refurbished reception and consulting rooms
• New flooring and decorations throughout
• Installation of new heating and ventilation systems
• New staff kitchen, WCs, and offices
• Replacement of windows and doors
• Installation of modern sanitaryware and IPS
• New loose and fixed furniture, fixtures and fittings, including medical equipment
Challenges Overcome:
The site, located on the Spurgeon Estate with neighbouring residential properties, required careful management due to its proximity to adjacent homes. Additionally, the project faced a delay in starting due to squatters occupying the premises, causing extensive water damage, which required an environmental clean prior to possession. Despite these challenges, the team worked out of hours and accelerated key phases to ensure completion of the works.
