Edge Apartments is a residential development consisting of 64 units. The building is split into two sections; a tower section with accommodation over 10 floors and is cantilevered over an L-shaped section, with accommodation over 5 floors. Both sections share an underground car park, and the lower section has a roof terrace area. The two sections are connected at each floor level by steel and concrete walkways.
Thomas Sinden were appointed to undertake the replacement of the combustable elements of the external facade with suitable A1/A2 fire rated materials. The works include removal of the exterior VMZinc cladding, timber batterns, plywood carrier board insultation, breather membrane and cavity barriers.
The building is a ‘high risk building’ (“HRB”) as defined under the Building Safety Act 2022.
Building remains in occupation, extensive liaison with the residents by our Resident Liaison Officer throughout.
