We recently celebrated the topping out of the extension to the Sixth Form building at Central Foundation Girls’ School in Bow.

To mark the occasion, Head Teacher Carla Prince was presented with an engraved trowel by Senior Site Manager Glen Neal. The event also provided an opportunity for school supporters and governors to view the building they have helped make possible, and it was wonderful to hear how impressed they were with the site and the progress so far.

The extension will include six new classrooms, an office, and ancillary spaces, and the project is on track for completion this summer, ready for the September intake. This expansion will support the school in meeting growing demand for sixth form places while providing a modern, inspiring learning environment for students.

“The topping out ceremony was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate a significant milestone with our sixth form expansion project. TSL have undertaken the project to date with due care and consideration for our staff, students, and our neighbours.

Additionally, they have engaged with our students through workshops, enabling them to both learn about the intricacies and scope of the project, while gaining first-hand knowledge of the wide range of career paths available to them across the construction industry and civil engineering.

It was an honour to accept the gift of the ceremonial trowel that will now serve as a reminder of this exciting time in the school’s extensive history. On behalf of Central Foundation Schools London and the Governing Body, thank you for a job well done so far!”
