Thomas Sinden is delighted to announce the successful completion of the Central Parade Redevelopment project on behalf of the London Borough of Waltham Forest, with Employers Agent Stace and Cost Consultants Oxbury Chartered Surveyors.

The Central Parade Redevelopment was procured via the London Construction Programme (LCP) Framework, and involved the construction of a part three, four, and five-storey mixed-use building at the rear of the Grade II listed Central Parade. Comprising of 19 apartments, the scheme is 100% affordable with 11 homes for social rent and eight for shared ownership, with a flexible commercial unit measuring 167 sqm at ground level. The scheme also involved the successful relocation and incorporation of an existing substation within the development. Additionally, the project encompassed the conversion of part of the south-western corner of Central Parade, resulting in the creation of two additional dwellings and further contributing to the overall residential offerings in the borough.

The new homes, built with sustainability in mind, include solar roof panels to provide electricity. Each home has a systems efficiency class heat rating of A+++, and an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of B or above to keep both carbon emissions and heating costs down.

Central Parade holds immense importance in both the local townscape and heritage landscape. Its distinctive wave canopy and iconic clock tower have made it a beloved local landmark. We are proud to have delivered this Redevelopment, a project that aligns with our commitment to delivering exceptional construction solutions while respecting the historical heritage of the locations we work in.

Steve McMahon, Operations Director of Thomas Sinden said “We would like to thank the London Borough of Waltham Forest for entrusting us with this important undertaking and to the local community for their patience and support throughout the construction process. This achievement would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our team, who demonstrated exemplary craftsmanship and professionalism at every stage of the project.”
