Thomas Sinden Awarded £18.6m Building Safety Scheme in East London

Thomas Sinden has been appointed to oversee a significant building safety project, on a substantial river front development near Canary Wharf.

The multi-storey occupied residential block development includes 151 apartments. The building is a ‘high risk building’ (“HRB”) as defined under the Building Safety Act 2022.

The contract works involve the removal and disposal of all combustible materials from the external walls and the inclusion of fire safety products, including the careful replacement of the brickwork, zinc cladding, render systems, aluminium spandrel panels, timber soffits, and timber decking.

Matt Ayers, Head of Construction of Thomas Sinden said, “We are delighted to be involved in this project and recognise the significance this work will have for the residents, who will remain in occupation during the works. Minimising disruption and the safety of the residents will be our Team’s focus.’’
