Thomas Sinden achieves the Building Safety Leadership & Culture certificate under the BSF Champions assessment programme

We are proud to announce that Thomas Sinden are amongst the first Principal Contractors to achieve the Building Safety Leadership and Culture certificate under the Building a Safer Future Champions assessment programme.

The BSF Champion assessment supports organisations with practical tools to improve and advance their leadership and culture in relation to building safety.

This award, the first of two stages of the BSF Champion assessment, evidences that Thomas Sinden has the right leadership, culture and commitment necessary to support the changes required to meet the objectives laid out in Dame Judith Hackett’s Building a Safer Future report.

The assessors noted that our staff spoke enthusiastically about the work that they are involved in, and the way they feel about working for Thomas Sinden. It was clear that they felt supported and appreciated by the organisation.

A strength that was highlighted was that Thomas Sinden team is complimented with a good balance of skills and experience, with some long serving employees having grown their skills, qualifications, and status over the years with Thomas Sinden, and others who have joined Thomas Sinden in the recent months and years, bringing in skills and experience developed in the wider industry.

The next step in our BSF Champion journey is to complete the second assessment module – Corroborating Elements, which requires us to provide evidence to demonstrate our current processes and inform planning of our continuous improvement journey in relation to Building Safety.

Thomas Sinden are committed to being at the forefront of developing best practice in relation to building safety, and compliance with Building Safety Act. We are investing in systems development, training and continuous improvement in all aspects of building safety, including the whole building lifecycle from design, through construction and use to decommissioning.
