Investing in future of the industry with appointment of new trainees

Committed to help tackle the skills shortage in the construction industry, we are pleased to announce the appointment of our latest intake of trainees as part of our drive to invest in the future of the industry.

Graeme Sinden comments, “One of the biggest challenges facing the industry is finding talented new staff so we are committed as an organisation to help and nurture trainees to gain the skills and experience they need to forge a career in the industry.  These latest appointments are part of our continued investment in the growth and future of the Thomas Sinden Group and we all look forward to them joining our team.”

Dan and Jake have joined the company with non-cognate first class degrees. They will be sponsored through an MSc in Quantity Surveying at London South Bank University while Craig and James will be sponsored on a Construction Management Degree Course. Each trainee will work closely with an experienced manager to mentor and guide them during their on the job training.

The trainees will complete their studies through day release attendance at university and will benefit from a programme of secondments to support departments, including purchasing, estimating, planning and accounts.  These secondments, along with a period shadowing other disciplines, will provide them with a well-rounded view of the business and equip them to become future leaders in the construction industry.

To ensure ongoing professional and career development, Thomas Sinden is also committed to supporting surveying trainees through the RICS APS process once training has been completed.
