Lending a helping hand

Thomas Sinden were delighted to provide our assistance when approached by Plaistow South Big Local to help with the mounting of their 100 metre community mural fixed to outbuildings of Newham University Hospital, along Glen Road.

The Glen Road Mural Project is a partnership of Plaistow South Big Local, Newham University Hospital (Barts Health NHS Trust), London Borough of Newham and Newham Sixth Form College.  The murals have been created by hundreds of local people, including students from Kaizen and New City Primary Schools, Cumberland School and Newham Sixth Form College, members of The Mix and Rhythm youth clubs, patients, staff and visitors and Newham University Hospital, and open community sessions at North Street Library and The Mix.  This project brought so many people together, all ages, abilities and cultures and is truly a great legacy for the people of Plaistow.

The mural has four themes woven together in to one whole – local history, community & diversity, health, and education and has been led by commissioned artist organiser Madhumita Bose-Thomas.

I know this may sound dramatic but your company literally ‘saved the day’. As you know this has been an ongoing project for the last two years and to see it up looking so good is nothing short of amazing.
