Hightown Housing Association have appointed Thomas Sinden to build 33 new affordable homes close to Hemel Hempstead town centre.

The scheme was awarded consent following a successful planning application and will involve the design and construction of 33 one-and-two bedroom apartments within an existing two storey office block, as well as two new additional storeys with associated car parking, bicycle and refuse storage.

The current appearance of the Charter Court building will completely change, with new brick cladding, revised window positions and the top floor and central column of the building utilising a metal cladding system.

This development will provide 100% affordable rented homes, supported by grant from Homes England.

Graeme Sinden, Managing Director of Thomas Sinden said, “We are delighted to have been appointed to carry out what is our second development scheme for Hightown having delivered 87 homes at Peregrine Close just over a year ago on time and within budget. We look forward to working with Hightown once again to bring much needed affordable quality housing to the borough.”

Richard Deville, Head of Development of Hightown Housing Association said, “We look forward to the successful regeneration of Charter Court into all Affordable Rent flats in a great town centre location. The scheme continues Hightown’s commitment to providing new affordable homes in Hemel Hempstead and we have every confidence in Thomas Sinden to deliver another quality rented housing scheme.”
