Construction of a new single storey glulam beam and steel framed building with cedar cladding, pholtovoltaic cells, solar panels, air source heat pump, green roof and underground rainwater harvesting tank.
The new facility provides a café with public toilets, staff facilities, outdoor terrace seating area, cycle storage, new fencing and service yard.
On this scheme our in-house civil engineering team completed the groundworks, including foundation construction, drainage and services, through to footpaths and external paving.
Located within the grounds of a park in Brighton, our project delivery and site organisation had to account for the open and public nature of the site and ensure that our operations were segregated to maintain the health and safety of the public at all times.
All deliveries and plant movements were marshalled within the park grounds and our access and egress routes were carefully planned to minimise the impact on the rest of the grounds.
