Thomas Sinden has completed the delivery of new affordable homes at 70-76 Bromley High Street in East London for Poplar HARCA.

The scheme provides 3 affordable/social rented units and 10 intermediate houses as well as private amenity space and large communal garden.

The construction comprised of piled foundations, suspended RC ground floor slab and RC frame. Metsec external facade walls complete with traditional face brickwork on masonry support angles, aluminium cladding, and a mixture of blue and inverted roofs by Suprema.

This was a very tight infill site with next to no space for storage, access restrictions including Party walls on two boundaries, front elevation built almost to the street pavement line and a primary school immediately behind our very small rear courtyard, which meant the Tower Crane had to be erected on the public highway to the front.

Graeme Sinden MD commented “This was a very challenging scheme delivered through the Pandemic period but working closely with the client, consultants and our supply chain, I am pleased that we have delivered a high quality scheme that will provide our client Poplar HARCA with much needed affordable housing for their residents”.
