Thomas Sinden are delighted to have been selected to deliver works at one of the nation’s highest profile cathedrals.

The scheme will see the creation of a new single storey Welcome Centre between grade 1 listed St Albans Cathedral church and Chapter House.

The works also include essential restoration and conservation work at the structure of Chapter House including lift installation, raising and extending floors plus new services throughout.

The new building is part of a major redevelopment programme which will boost awareness of the historic church’s 1,700-year history.  The church was built on the burial of Alban – Britain’s first Christian martyr.  The ancient structure is thought to be Britain’s first Christian shrine and the country’s longest serving centre of Christian worship.
