Des Thomas Retirement

Today we announce the retirement of Des Thomas from Thomas Sinden, the business which he and Graeme Sinden set up 30 years ago. Initially the business operated as an informal partnership before becoming incorporated in 1997. Since then Thomas Sinden has gone from strength to strength and grown into the respected construction company it is today. Des departs with our best wishes and thanks for his contribution to building the business over the past 30 years.

A plan has been in place over the past couple of years to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities, and to enable the executive team, who will continue to drive the business forward, to own a stake in it. The Company continues to be 100% owned by the executive team running the business day to day, with Steve McMahon and Steve Wood joining Graeme Sinden as shareholders.

Thomas Sinden is well placed financially, with a healthy balance sheet, good cash reserves, and strong support from both our bankers and our sureties. This puts us in an excellent position to take advantage of market opportunities over the coming months as the country emerges from lockdown.

We are very excited about the prospects for the business going forward. We have a great team of driven and dedicated people, and the skills, resources and experience to take the business to a new level.
