Apprenticeships

Thomas Sinden firmly believes in ‘growing our own’ workforce and therefore has training programmes for many roles within the Company such as apprenticeships, construction degrees, non construction related degrees, professional qualifications and NVQ’s.

We seek to recruit trainees and apprentices across all areas of the business and provide them with the guidance and support that will help them achieve their aspirations and meet their goals.

We currently have two main types of training schemes. The first is a 3 to 4 year apprenticeship scheme for trades such as:-

- Carpentry,
- Plastering,
- Electrical.

The second type of training is our ‘long term training programme’ which financially supports trainee surveyors, contract managers, quantity surveying, site managers to achieve a degree in their chosen profession.

Trainees currently account for approximately 10% of our total workforce.

Thomas Sinden were awarded the Havering Business award for ‘Excellence in Apprenticeship Training’2010. This award is designed to recognise an organisation's positive commitment to apprentice training and personal development. This is a magnificent achievement for the company having also picked up the award for ‘Staff Training & Development’ in 2009.
